Vice President Sara Duterte currently holds the highest trust rating among Philippine government officials, according to the latest Pulse Asia survey. The report follows a significant decline in the trust and performance ratings of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
The survey revealed that the President’s trust rating fell to 17 percent in April, down from 42 percent in February and 25 percent in March. In contrast, Vice President Duterte has maintained strong public support.
Malacañang responded to the survey results by emphasizing that the administration remains focused on its work regardless of public opinion polls. Officials noted that the sample size of 2,400 respondents may not fully capture the sentiment of the country’s population of over 100 million.

The Palace also linked the dip in the President’s numbers to the continued spread of misinformation and fake news in the country. International observers have identified the Philippines as particularly vulnerable to disinformation, which may have influenced public perception.
To counter this, the government has been intensifying efforts to communicate its accomplishments and provide accurate information to the public.
Despite the drop in ratings, the administration is reportedly undeterred and committed to continuing its programs and policies for the benefit of the Filipino people.
Challenges in communication might have led to the public's limited awareness of current government initiatives.
The Marcos administration remains focused on governance, emphasizing service delivery over popularity.
