A brutal killing has stunned residents of Sto. Tomas after a young man surrendered to authorities and admitted to fatally stabbing a member of the LGBT community, claiming the attack was fueled by anger after he was allegedly sexually abused multiple times.
According to the Sto. Tomas Police, the suspect voluntarily went to authorities on Saturday and turned over the knife he allegedly used in the killing. The stabbing reportedly occurred in a remote area of Barangay Balelleng, far from public view.
Police said the victim’s body was discovered early Sunday morning by his sibling, who immediately reported the incident. Responding officers confirmed the victim had sustained multiple stab wounds.
During police interrogation, the suspect claimed he was sexually assaulted by the victim on three separate occasions. Authorities said the suspect told investigators he could no longer contain his anger, which ultimately led to the deadly confrontation.
The suspect is now detained at the Sto. Tomas police station while authorities prepare to file a homicide case against him. Police emphasized that the claims made by the suspect are allegations and remain under investigation.
Investigators are now examining the crime scene, the surrendered weapon, and possible witness accounts to establish the full sequence of events. Authorities are also coordinating with forensic experts to strengthen the case.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, igniting discussions on sexual abuse, violence, and the dangers of taking the law into one’s own hands. Local officials urged the public to allow the justice system to determine the truth and to avoid spreading unverified information.
Police reminded residents that anyone experiencing abuse should immediately seek help from authorities or proper support services rather than resorting to violence.
