Missing Fil-Am mother’s D.C. home treated as active crime scene as search intensifies

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The disappearance of 53-year-old Filipino-American mother Antoinette Forbes has taken a more serious turn after her family said investigators are now treating her Northwest Washington home as an active crime scene.

Forbes, who remains classified by the Metropolitan Police Department as a critically missing person, was last seen on Sept. 4.

Her family said investigators have restricted relatives from entering the home while police continue processing the property and examining evidence connected to her disappearance.

The circumstances have raised growing concern because several of Forbes’ personal belongings were reportedly left behind.

According to her family, two cellphones, her wallet and laptop were found inside the residence, while her car remained parked in the driveway. Her dog was also found alone inside the home.

The decision to treat the residence as an active crime scene marks a significant development in the investigation, but authorities have not publicly confirmed that a crime occurred.

Police have also not identified a suspect, announced an arrest or officially determined that foul play was involved.

Forbes remains missing as investigators continue examining the home and following leads in an effort to determine what happened to her after she was last seen.

Her family continues to seek answers and hopes the ongoing investigation will provide a breakthrough in the case.
