Family asks public to help locate missing Filipino-American mother


Police and family members are searching for Antoinette Forbes, 53, a Washington, D.C., mother who was reported missing after she was last seen on Sept. 4 in Northwest Washington.
The Metropolitan Police Department said Forbes was last seen at about 3 p.m. in the 3200 block of Nebraska Avenue NW.
Police describe Forbes as an Asian woman, about 5 feet 2 inches tall and 115 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Forbes is of Filipino descent and was born in New York.
Forbes’ family said her disappearance is unusual. Her sister, Aileen Forbes, said Antoinette is the mother of a 10-year-old boy and that the family became concerned after they were unable to reach her.
According to family accounts reported by local and national media, Forbes’ vehicle was found at her residence, while her dog remained at the home. Friends have also said some of her personal belongings were found inside.
Authorities have not publicly said what may have led to Forbes’ disappearance or whether foul play is suspected.
The Metropolitan Police Department continues to investigate the case.
