NEW YORK - Filipino professional golfer Rico Hoey secured a career milestone after finishing in a tie for ninth place at the prestigious PGA Tour Procore Championship.
The tournament, held September 11–17 at the Silverado Resort Golf Course in scenic Napa Valley, brought together Ryder Cup standouts, past champions, and top-ranked PGA Tour professionals. Against this elite field, Hoey’s 12-under par finish, highlighted by a 4-under par final round, earned him a well-deserved spot in the tournament’s Top 10.
Rising Filipino Golf Star
Born in Manila in 1995, Hoey moved to the United States for college, where he played at the University of Southern California. He turned professional in 2017 and made an immediate impact by capturing the Freedom 55 Financial Championship in the same year.
In 2023, Hoey broke through on the Korn Ferry Tour with a win at the Visit Knoxville Open, which secured him his PGA Tour card. Since then, he has proudly represented the Philippines in high-level competitions, including the Barracuda Championship and this year’s Procore Championship.
