Filipino killed in deadly Toronto stabbing

A 57-year-old Filipino man was killed in a deadly stabbing in Toronto following an alleged physical confrontation.

Toronto Police identified the victim as Albert Gundran. Officers responded to the Steeles Avenue West and Hilda Avenue area at around 8:27 p.m. on September 26, 2026, following reports of a stabbing.

Police said Gundran and another man were allegedly involved in a physical altercation before Gundran was stabbed.

Emergency responders performed life-saving measures, but Gundran was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect was arrested at the scene, according to Toronto Police. The case is now being investigated by the Homicide and Missing Persons Unit.

Police have released Gundran’s photograph and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to contact investigators.
