The Department of Education (DepEd) has called for a thorough investigation into allegations that two teachers molested several female students in a public school in Sarangani Province.

In a statement released by the DepEd-Schools Division of Sarangani, the department confirmed receiving reports regarding the alleged abuse involving two teachers and multiple students. The division stressed that it is treating the matter with utmost seriousness and has referred the case to the appropriate authorities for investigation.

“The complaint is a grave matter. We are committed to ensuring that the welfare and safety of our learners remain our top priority,” the DepEd said in its statement, emphasizing its zero-tolerance policy toward any form of child abuse, exploitation, or misconduct by educators.

According to initial reports, at least six students were allegedly molested by the two teachers, and two of the victims reportedly became pregnant. The shocking allegations have sparked outrage among parents, teachers, and the local community, who are demanding accountability and immediate action from education officials and law enforcement.

DepEd Sarangani said it is awaiting the official results of the ongoing investigation while assuring the public that it is cooperating fully with authorities. The agency also vowed to provide psychological support and counseling to the affected students to help them recover from the traumatic experience.

The case gained traction after details of the alleged abuse circulated on social media, prompting calls for the immediate suspension of the accused teachers and the strengthening of child protection mechanisms in schools.

DepEd reiterated that all educators are expected to uphold the highest ethical and moral standards in dealing with learners and warned that anyone found guilty of misconduct will face appropriate administrative and criminal sanctions.
