Malita, Davao Occidental - A gruesome crime has rocked Barangay Talogoy after the decomposing bodies of a 17-year-old mother and her six-month-old baby boy were discovered inside their home.
The discovery was made after neighbors noticed a foul odor emanating from the residence. Responding authorities found the victims with multiple hack wounds to the head and neck. A bolo knife, believed to have been used in the attack, was recovered at the scene.
Initial investigation suggests that the killings may have occurred on April 29, as the bodies were already in an advanced state of decomposition when found.
Police have identified the mother’s live-in partner as the primary suspect. He is believed to have committed the crime days after the couple appeared before barangay officials on April 15 over a domestic dispute. Jealousy is being considered as the possible motive.
A manhunt is ongoing as police continue their investigation and search for the suspect.
