A 62-year-old female passenger with a decade-old warrant of arrest was apprehended upon arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on May 1, 2026, authorities said.

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) intercepted the passenger after confirming that she was the subject of an outstanding warrant for estafa, with recommended bail set at ₱20,000.

Immigration officers immediately coordinated with NAIA Police Station 3 to verify the warrant and initiate proper legal procedures.

A joint operation involving NAIA Police Station 3 and the Manila Police District–Barbosa Police Station (PS-14) led to the successful service of the arrest warrant shortly after the passenger’s arrival from San Francisco, California.

Authorities said the suspect is now in the custody of MPD-Barbosa Police Station 14, where she is undergoing documentation and processing ahead of further legal proceedings.

According to Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group Director PBGen. Dionisio B. Bartolome Jr., the arrest underscores the continued vigilance of law enforcement agencies in tracking down fugitives.

“Patuloy tayong magiging mapagmatiyag upang matiyak na ang bawat indibidwal na lumalabag sa batas ay mapapanagot,” Bartolome said.

The operation highlights ongoing coordination between immigration authorities and police units to enforce outstanding warrants and ensure that individuals facing criminal charges are held accountable upon entry into the country.
