LUCENA CITY, Philippines - A suspected relationship dispute turned deadly after a man was fatally shot inside a store along Enriquez Street in Barangay 4, Lucena City, around 11:00 a.m. on March 5.

The victim was identified as Jayson Zoleta, who reportedly worked at a clothing outlet in a mall in the city.

According to the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Lucena, the suspect has been identified as Fattah Esmai Faisal, a resident of Barangay Marketview. Authorities said the suspect fled the scene immediately after the shooting and remains at large as of this writing.

Initial police investigation indicated that the victim and the suspect were allegedly involved in a relationship, which investigators are now examining as a possible motive in the killing.

Police have launched an ongoing manhunt to locate the suspect, who authorities warn is armed and considered dangerous.

The PNP is urging the public to remain vigilant and to immediately report any information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts to the nearest police station. Authorities also cautioned residents not to approach the suspect and to allow law enforcement to handle the situation.
