Naga City, Philippines — A quiet afternoon in Barangay Concepcion Pequeña was shattered by violence after an 18-year-old male was fatally stabbed during a street altercation involving three minors, according to local police.

The incident occurred around 12:30 PM on Tuesday, as the victim was reportedly walking along a street in the area when he was suddenly approached by a group of three teenagers, aged 14, 15, and 16. According to the Naga City Police Office, the confrontation began with a verbal exchange that quickly escalated into a heated argument.

Witnesses say that in the midst of the dispute, one of the minors pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest. The young man collapsed on the ground, bleeding heavily, while the three suspects fled the scene.

Bystanders immediately alerted authorities, prompting a hot pursuit operation. Within a short period, law enforcement was able to apprehend one of the suspects—a 15-year-old boy, who was found hiding nearby. He was immediately placed under the custody of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), in accordance with child protection laws.

Meanwhile, a manhunt is ongoing for the two remaining suspects. Police are also working to determine the motive behind the altercation, as well as whether the victim and suspects had any prior history of conflict.

The incident has raised alarm among residents and community leaders, who are now calling for increased efforts to address juvenile delinquency and improve conflict resolution mechanisms among the youth.

Authorities assured the public that they are pursuing all leads and are committed to ensuring justice for the victim and his family.

As the investigation continues, the CSWDO is also coordinating with the families of the involved minors to provide the necessary psychological and legal support.
