No Final Word Yet on PCO Secretary Jay Ruiz’s Post
There was no announcement on whether Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Jay Ruiz will permanently retain his post. However, he clarified that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has not withdrawn his ad interim appointment.
In an ambush interview at the Senate, Ruiz said he recently spoke with Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.“He told me to just focus on my job and continue working because my appointment has not been withdrawn,” Ruiz shared.
When asked about the schedule of the next confirmation hearing, Ruiz said, “That’s up to the Commission on Appointments. We haven’t been given a date yet.”
The Commission on Appointments (CA) on Tuesday deferred the confirmation of several Cabinet officials, including Ruiz, due to lack of material time.
