
Massacre in Malaybalay: Family Bludgeoned to Death with Hammers; Young Daughters Escape Horror

BUKIDNON- A brutal attack inside a family home in Barangay Managok, Malaybalay City claimed the lives of three family members late Wednesday night, May 21. The victims were a married couple and their teenage son, all found dead with severe head injuries believed to have been inflicted by hammers and a metal pipe.
Authorities identified the victims as Jovany Andohon, 50, his wife Evangeline, 48, and their son Ivan, a high school student. The assailants, who remain unidentified, reportedly entered the residence around midnight and launched a violent assault, fatally beating the victims in their sleep.
Two younger daughters of the couple, both elementary students, managed to survive the incident by hiding while the attack took place. They were later rescued and are currently under the care of relatives and social services.
Investigators from the Malaybalay City Police Station and local officials are conducting a full investigation to determine the motive and identify those responsible. The crime scene revealed signs of forced entry and extreme violence, with the victims found lying in pools of blood with severe head trauma.
The community has been left in mourning, and authorities are appealing for any information that could help in solving the case. The search for the suspects continues.
