Makagago Blasts Rival Vlogger as ‘Poverty Porn Star’ Amid Child Grooming Furor

Blogger Makagago, whose real name is Mark Jayson Warnakulahewa, has questioned the charitable activities of fellow vlogger Val Matubang. According to him, Matubang and Team Kalingap are allegedly turning vlogging into a business, claiming they simply pass on what they receive to people in need after soliciting these goods or funds through their content.

Makagago said Matubang has openly admitted in his posts that he earns from being a “charity vlogger,” branding him a “poverty porn star.” He also claimed that people in Matubang’s hometown in Camarines Norte have begun to turn against him after the provincial Public Information Office reposted Makagago’s criticisms.

MG (Makagago) added that Matubang’s “true colors” emerged on social media after being angered by MG’s criticisms, accusing him of fabricating stories. He also claimed that Matubang is no longer thinking clearly based on his online posts directed at him.

Makagago reported to the Philippine National Police the alleged threats Matubang made against his wife and child, and is preparing to file charges for grave threats, cybercrime, and child protection violations, saying his family was frightened by the threats.

He also asked Matubang: “Is it true that you are involved in child grooming, wherein you pair 30-year-old members of your group with minors?” The question, he said, came from a source who claimed that Kalingap Rab, Matubang’s son, was allegedly pimping out young women they were supposed to be helping.

Makagago further questioned whether Team Kalingap receives sponsorships that are then distributed to beneficiaries.

Supporters of Makagago have called on Senator Risa Hontiveros to investigate Matubang and Team Kalingap over the child grooming allegations.

In his latest vlog, Val Matubang apologized to Makagago, saying his son Rab Matubang was upset with him and had told him to stop creating content against Makagago.
