Lancaster Killer Pleads Guilty in Murders of 4, Including Fil-Am Siblings

A 21-year-old man has pleaded guilty to the execution-style killings of four people, including Filipino-American siblings Christine Aca-ac, 25, and Janvi Maquindang, 21, inside a Lancaster, California, home before setting the house ablaze in a revenge attack, prosecutors said.

Miguel Diego Sandoval admitted to the Nov. 16, 2024 murders of Aca-ac and Maquindang, along with Edwin Garcia, 24, and Matthew Montebello, 21.

Prosecutors said Sandoval launched the deadly attack after his relationship with the Filipino-American siblings’ brother ended. He allegedly waited until the victims were asleep, entered the home and shot all four before setting the residence on fire and fleeing.

A 16-year-old victim trapped inside managed to call 911 and was later rescued from a locked bedroom.

Sandoval pleaded guilty to four counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances, as well as attempted murder, burglary, arson, animal cruelty and child abuse charges.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 17 and will receive life in prison without the possibility of parole, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
