NEW YORK - Thousands of faithful devotees gathered at St. Patrick's Cathedral on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan in prayer and thanksgiving to commemorate the Centennial Anniversary of the Canonical Coronation of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag.

The sacred celebration marked 100 years of deep Marian devotion, unwavering faith, and countless testimonies of grace associated with the beloved image of Our Lady of Manaoag, one of the most venerated Marian icons in the Philippines.

Devotees joined a solemn procession before the ceremonial arrival of Our Lady inside the cathedral, where prayers, hymns, and expressions of faith filled the historic church.

The Eucharistic celebration was officiated by Bishop Efren V. Esmilla, who encouraged the faithful to continue living lives rooted in prayer, humility, and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Representatives from the Philippine Consulate General in New York, headed by Deputy Consul General Adrian Cruz, attended the celebration together with Ambassador Mario De Leon Jr., joining the Filipino Catholic community in honoring the historic milestone.

Members of the Knights of Rizal also participated in the celebration alongside various Filipino religious and civic organizations.

More than 2,000 Filipinos attended the historic Mass, which many described as a memorable and faith-filled gathering for the Filipino community in New York. Volunteers and church organizations, including MFC and AFTA, also played important roles during the celebration, with many parishioners serving as ushers and assistants throughout the liturgical event.

“It was a proud moment to witness and be part of history,” one devotee said while reflecting on the overwhelming turnout and spiritual atmosphere inside the cathedral.

Organizers said the centennial celebration served not only as a remembrance of a century of Marian devotion, but also as a testament to the enduring faith of Filipinos abroad who continue to entrust their prayers and hopes to Our Lady of Manaoag.

For many devotees, the gathering became a moment of spiritual renewal and unity, reflecting the enduring Marian faith shared by Filipino Catholics across generations and across the world.
