Bloodbath at Coffee Shop: Businessman Shot Dead, Girlfriend Wounded in Broad Daylight Ambush

San Perdo, Laguna - A Filipino businessman was shot dead in cold blood and his girlfriend wounded during a terrifying broad daylight attack at a coffee shop just outside Manila.

Elldon Mateo, a well-known entrepreneur from San Pedro City in the province of Laguna, was enjoying a morning coffee with his 24-year-old live-in partner, Daphne Marie Go, when a gunman walked in and opened fire without warning.

Mateo was shot in the head at point-blank range and died on the spot. Go was hit in the shoulder and hip but survived and was rushed to Amante Hospital for emergency treatment.

The shocking incident occurred at the Cupnayan Coffee Shop in Barangay Calendola, a typically quiet neighborhood.

CCTV footage reportedly shows the suspect approaching the couple’s table calmly before pulling out a firearm and unleashing a hail of bullets.

Witnesses say the suspect then fled with an accomplice on a white motorcycle with no license plates — leaving behind a scene of chaos and bloodshed.

Local police are now in pursuit of the suspects, described as men in their 30s to 40s. The gunman wore a light-colored shirt and shorts, while the getaway driver was clad in a white helmet, black jacket, and shorts.

Authorities say the motive behind the brutal attack remains unclear, but confirmed the suspects will face charges of murder and attempted murder once apprehended.

The shooting has left the community rattled, with locals calling for swift justice and increased security in the area.
