Bersamin Blasts Lawmakers for Passing the Buck on Corruption
MANILA – The Palace is on fire! Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin didn’t mince words as he slammed certain members of the House of Representatives for trying to pin their own mess on Malacañang.
In a fiery Saturday statement, Bersamin said the Cabinet is outraged over what he called “recent spins” from lawmakers desperate to escape accountability.
“They are attempting to shift the blame for their own corruption and failures onto the Executive Branch,” Bersamin declared.
The Executive Secretary warned the Cabinet won’t take insults sitting down—especially not cheap political theatricsaimed at derailing the budget process.
“We will not tolerate any attack on the integrity and reputation of the Executive Branch,” he stressed. “We will not allow the budget to be held hostage.”
And then came the knockout punch: Bersamin told lawmakers to look in the mirror before pointing fingers.
“All investigations will be useless if corruption within their ranks remains unchecked. The people demand accountability. Our message to Congress: CLEAN YOUR HOUSE FIRST!”
The statement sets the stage for another explosive showdown between the Palace and the House as budget talks heat up.
