VP Sara Roars: Corruption Everywhere, Not Just Flood Control!

Vice President Sara Duterte lashed out at the Marcos administration’s investigation into alleged anomalies in flood control projects, calling it nothing more than a political show.

“Circus! Zarzuela! They keep shouting corruption, corruption, but only flood control? The government has so many projects, not just that,” Duterte fumed during a speech in The Hague, Netherlands, on August 27.

The feisty VP reminded the public that as early as 2024, she had already revealed how congressmen carved up funds meant for the Department of Education’s school building program. But according to her, Malacañang kept quiet.

“They hijacked the school building program, split the money among themselves, and inserted their own lists into the House version of the budget. BBM knew about it, but he didn’t react,” she said.

Duterte dared the Marcos administration to stop cherry-picking scandals and instead probe the entire 2024 and 2025 national budgets.

“If they’re serious—BBM knows this, he was governor before, I was a mayor—we all know where the anomalies are, where the corruption is hiding. Where are the investigations?” Duterte challenged.

Her fiery words set the stage for yet another clash between the country’s top two leaders, fueling speculation of a deeper rift within the UniTeam alliance.
