
Two Camarines Norte Students Bring Pride to Bicolanos with Global Robotics Triumph

CAMARINES NORTE - In a shining moment for Philippine education and Bicolano excellence, two young innovators from Paracale, Camarines Norte Rhaine Jade Bravo and Benedict Deviana, both Grade 12 STEM students of Paracale National High School brought home the gold medal and championship title at the Global Robotics Competition 2025 held in Bangkok, Thailand from October 30 to November 2, 2025.
Their triumph in the Creative/Innovation Category, where they earned the Gold Champion title, showcased not only their intelligence and creativity but also their determination to compete with the best minds from around the world. They also secured 3rd Runner-Up in the Sumobot 1000g Auto Category, further proving their skill and technical mastery.
Behind their success is the unwavering support of their mentor, Mrs. Maricel Calmateo, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the sponsors who made their journey possible. She especially acknowledged the Kiwanis Club Golden Servants, Mayor Romeo Y. Moreno, SB Members Mac Oco and Bonchit Villacruz, SK Chairman Micah Solaybar, Councilor Abel Oco, LS JM CP, Margie Rodriguez Manipon, the Deviana Sisters, the PNHS Faculty Club, and Angelita De Lemios for their generosity.

Coach Calmateo also extended appreciation to SDS Crestito M. Morcilla, CESO V, ASDS OIC Rez C. Salazar, EPS Science Dr. Noel V. Ibis, EPS TLE Dr. Nixon Olfindo, PSDS Dr. Glenda N. Rito, Principal Dr. Arminda G. David, Assistant Principal John A. Tabuzo, Head Teachers Magdalena F. Fremista (Science) and Vicente R. Medenilla, and TLE Trainer Carren S. Villar for their guidance and mentorship.
“Progress begins when we empower our students,” Coach Calmateo said. She added that the victory of Bravo and Deviana is a testament to the talent, perseverance, and world-class potential of Filipino youth.
Their story is not just about winning medals it is about dreaming beyond limits, overcoming financial hurdles, and proving that brilliance can emerge from any corner of the country. The young Paracaleños who almost missed the competition due to lack of funds have now inspired a generation, bringing honor and pride to the entire Bicol Regionand to the Philippines.
