A woman was found dead, her hands bound, inside a hotel room in Manila.

According to a report from the Manila Police District (MPD), the victim—approximately 5 feet tall and wearing a black tank top and leggings—was discovered with her hands tied while lying on the bed inside a hotel room in Sta. Mesa, Manila, around 6:45 a.m. on Thursday, October 23.

The hotel’s supervisor and room attendant told police that the victim had checked in with a man and a woman on Wednesday night. However, by 6:30 a.m. the following morning, the man and woman were seen leaving the hotel.

CCTV footage from the barangay showed the female companion wearing a face mask and eyeglasses, carrying a helmet as she exited the hotel and walked toward the corner of Reposo and Peralta Streets. Upon reaching V. Mapa Street, she was seen running and quickly boarding a jeepney bound for Mandaluyong, evading a hotel employee who attempted to chase her.

The male companion was not captured on CCTV, as he exited the hotel separately through another route.

Police are still determining the cause of the victim’s death since no traces of blood were found in the room. Investigators are also looking into whether the woman had been forced to take illegal drugs before she was killed.

Authorities are now tracking down the man and woman, who are considered persons of interest in the crime.
