New details emerge in arrest of Filipino teacher in Pennsylvania

Authorities have released additional details about the undercover operation that led to the arrest of Filipino teacher Rogie Legaspi in Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Police said investigators, posing as the alleged victim, arranged for Legaspi to travel to Chester County for a planned meeting during which alleged sexual activity was implied.

On September 18, 2026, Legaspi arrived at a predetermined location in Parkesburg Borough, where law enforcement officers were waiting. He was immediately taken into custody without incident, authorities said.

The arrest followed a joint investigation involving Chester County detectives and the Parkesburg Borough Police Department.

Before details of his arrest became public, Legaspi had been reported missing after he failed to return home, prompting concern among members of the school community.

Legaspi is facing multiple sexual-offense charges involving a minor, including sex trafficking.

Following his arrest, he was arraigned, and his bail was set at $5 million cash. He was remanded to Chester County Prison pending a preliminary hearing before the District Court.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing.

The charges against Legaspi are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
