Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos issued a rare and strongly worded statement on Tuesday, accusing his aunt, Senator Imee Marcos, of spreading “a web of lies” allegedly meant to destabilize the administration and advance her personal political ambitions.
Sandro, who emphasized that this would be the “first and last time” he would comment on the matter, said it has become painful to watch how Senator Imee has allegedly resorted to falsehoods that implicate President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Marcos, and now—“for the first time ever”—himself.
“It pains me to see how low she has gone,” he said, stressing that the accusations repeated by the senator are “false, baseless, and dangerously irresponsible.”
According to the Majority Leader, several close relatives—Borgy Manotoc, Ilocos Norte Vice Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc, and Atty. Michael Marcos Keon—can attest that the allegations being floated against him bear no truth.
Sandro also lamented that he and his cousins had always agreed not to let old conflicts between their parents divide them. He expressed deep regret that Senator Imee, whom he credits for helping launch his early political career, would now “betray her own family.”
“For her to do this brings a lot of pain,” he said.
The Majority Leader urged the public to reject narratives aimed at toppling the administration, calling instead for unity and cooperation.
“Now is the time to unite behind the truth, not to amplify stories meant to destabilize the government,” he said. “This is a time to help one another, not sow disorder.”
He ended with a pointed rebuke: “This is not the behavior of a true sibling.”
