"Karaoke Killer!" Off-Key Singing Ends in Bloody Tragedy in Misamis Oriental

Villanueva, Misamis Oriental — What was supposed to be a fun Sunday morning videoke session turned into a horrifying bloodbath after a man was hacked to death — all because of his off-key singing.

The victim, identified as Narciso Dayle, a resident of Sitio Banban, Barangay Looc, was belting out his favorite tune when his performance took a deadly turn. According to police reports, his loud and out-of-tune voice enraged a nearby man — now the prime suspect — who stormed into the scene, confronted the victim, and in a fit of rage, unleashed a brutal attack.

Witnesses said the two exchanged heated words before the suspect, reportedly unable to bear another note, pulled out a bladed weapon and hacked Dayle to death on the spot.

When questioned, the suspect boldly admitted to the crime, claiming he was "irritated by the noise" and couldn't stand Dayle's tone-deaf singing. In a chilling confession, he said he just wanted to "shut him up."

The suspect is now in the custody of the Villanueva Municipal Police Station and is facing criminal charges for murder.

Authorities are reminding the public to keep their tempers in check — and maybe consider using the karaoke volume control next time.

Music may soothe the soul — but this time, it struck a fatal chord.
