The federal criminal case against Marizel Yukee is scheduled for a jury trial on August 10, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in Courtroom 3A of the U.S. District Court in Houston before Judge Keith P. Ellison.
The jury trial setting marks a significant step in the proceedings, as the case is expected to be presented before a panel of jurors unless it is resolved beforehand through a plea agreement, dismissal, or another court order.
Federal prosecutors allege that Yukee participated in a large-scale health care fraud scheme involving medically unnecessary wound care and allograft treatments that resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars in fraudulent claims submitted to Medicare and TRICARE.
The indictment also alleges the payment of illegal kickbacks and the submission of false medical records.
Yukee has pleaded not guilty to all charges and remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
If the trial proceeds as scheduled, prosecutors and defense attorneys will present evidence, call witnesses, and make their arguments before the jury. Following the presentation of evidence and closing arguments, jurors will deliberate before reaching a verdict on the charges.
