Filipino national Joshua Gabriel Car Hombrebueno was transferred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody on October 12, 2026, following convictions involving secret recordings in a restaurant restroom, according to an Alexandria Sheriff’s Office spokesperson.

The Department of Homeland Security included Hombrebueno in its October 14 announcement titled “Worst of the Worst: ICE Arrests Pedophiles, Sexual Predators, and Domestic Assailants.” DHS identified his convictions as two counts of videotaping undressed persons without consent in Alexandria, Virginia.

The case stemmed from a September 20, 2025, incident at Gustave Boulangerie & Brasserie, where Hombrebueno worked. According to a search warrant affidavit, a woman who used an employee restroom with her minor daughter discovered a cellphone concealed inside the bathroom vanity.

The phone, propped on a roll of toilet paper, had been recording for approximately 30 minutes. The woman told police she reviewed the footage and saw the person who placed it there.

Hombrebueno received a five-year suspended jail sentence, five years of probation and mandatory sex offender registration for unlawful filming involving a minor. He was also convicted of two misdemeanor filming charges, receiving 179 days in jail on one count and a suspended 179-day sentence on the other.

The restaurant initially suspended Hombrebueno after his arrest and later fired him.
