MANILA, Philippines - Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz has added another historic honor to her celebrated career after becoming the inaugural recipient of the Bb. Pilipinas Hall of Fame Award.

Binibining Pilipinas introduced the new recognition to honor former queens whose achievements have brought pride to the organization and the Philippines.

Diaz made history in 1969 when she became the first Filipina to win the Miss Universe crown. Following her international pageant victory, she built a successful career in film and television and received several acting awards for her performances.

The prestigious award was presented to Diaz by Miss Universe 2010 fourth runner-up Venus Raj and Bb. Pilipinas Universe 1985 Joyce Ann Burton-Titular.

The recognition celebrates Diaz’s lasting influence on Philippine pageantry and entertainment. Her groundbreaking victory paved the way for future generations of Filipina beauty queens competing on the international stage.

The Bb. Pilipinas 2026 coronation night was scheduled for July 18 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Former Binibining Pilipinas queens Catriona Gray, Miriam Quiambao, MJ Lastimosa and Nicole Cordoves were announced as hosts of the event, bringing together some of the country’s most recognizable pageant personalities for the special celebration.
