
Global Education Leaders Unite in NYC for Landmark 2025 UNIFFIED International Educators Summit and AFTA SAGA Global Forum

New York City, NY — Hundreds of Filipino and Filipino American educators, researchers, and policy makers from around the world gathered in New York City for the 2025 UNIFFIED International Educators Summit and the Association of Fil-Am Teachers of America (AFTA) Global Forum. The landmark events were hosted by the United Federation of Filipino American Educators (UNIFFIED) and AFTA, Inc..
These summits provided a dynamic platform for Filipino and Filipino American educators to showcase academic excellence, cultural leadership, and collaborative innovation in education. Delegates from across the United States, the Philippines, Mozambique, and the United Arab Emirates participated in a week-long series of conferences, networking receptions, and award ceremonies.
A major highlight of the gatherings was the UNIFFIED International Multidisciplinary Research Conference, held in partnership with the Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY). Scholars presented groundbreaking research aimed at addressing educational and social challenges across multiple disciplines.

Meanwhile, AFTA hosted its highly anticipated SAGA 2025 Global Forum and Gala Nights. As the premier organization of Filipino American educators since 1998, AFTA honored outstanding educators with the prestigious Crystal Apple Service Awards and celebrated its mission of “All for the teachers, all for the students, and all for our communities.” The gala evenings spotlighted the vital contributions of Filipino American educators to both education and community empowerment.
Both organizations underscored the critical role Filipino and Fil-Am educators play not only in their local communities but also within global education systems.
As the summits concluded, attendees departed inspired and equipped with new partnerships, ideas, and strategies to lead positive change in classrooms and communities worldwide.
