New York City — One Waraynon Creators, a growing collective of digital content creators from Samar Island, is making a meaningful impact beyond social media by organizing regular humanitarian missions to support underserved communities across the island.
Through these initiatives, the group distributes food packs, school supplies, and other essential items to families, schoolchildren, and senior citizens who need them most.
According to Dr. Cassey Samantilla, the organization began as a small circle of local digital creators originally known as Team Waraynon. It was led by Elmer Galit Cerbito "Maestro Waray", a public school teacher who had long been active in charity work even before the group’s formal formation.
“Even before this movement grew, Sir Elmer was already a charity vlogger in his own way,” Dr. Samantilla said. “Being part of these humanitarian missions makes me feel happy and fulfilled, knowing that our efforts truly make a difference.”
What started with only a handful of members gradually expanded through shared advocacy and compassion. During one outreach activity, the group connected with fellow digital creator Kinglucks, who expressed interest in supporting the initiative. This collaboration became a turning point, leading to the formal creation of One Waraynon Creators, with Kinglucks elected as President and Elmer Galit as Vice President.

To strengthen the organization’s reach, municipal heads were also appointed to represent different towns across Samar.
Today, the group is composed of individuals from various backgrounds, including vloggers, students, fishermen, military personnel, teachers, doctors, government employees, vendors, and farmers. The diversity of its members reflects the group’s belief that service goes beyond profession, status, or online following.
One Waraynon Creators conducts monthly outreach programs in different municipalities across Samar. Each activity targets barangays identified as most in need, ensuring assistance reaches vulnerable sectors.
Members contribute based on their capacity. While not everyone can provide financial support, many offer goods, supplies, and volunteer time. Those with greater means share more, reinforcing the Filipino spirit of bayanihan within the organization.
To sustain these missions, the group also seeks partnerships with donors, sponsors, and local supporters. Municipal governments play a key role by coordinating activities and encouraging contributions from individuals and institutions.
The organization’s sixth and largest outreach program so far was held on January 31 in Barangay Polangi, Catarman, where schoolchildren and senior citizens were the main beneficiaries. The event highlighted the group’s growing capacity and commitment to community service.
Looking ahead, One Waraynon Creators aims to expand its humanitarian efforts and continue uplifting communities across Samar in the months and years to come.
