
Former DPWH Secretary and Now Senator Mark Villar Tops 2024 SALN List with ₱1.2 Billion Net Worth

Senator Mark Villar, former Secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), has declared the highest net worth among senators, amounting to ₱1.2 billion, based on his 2024 Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN).
In the SALN made public on Tuesday afternoon, Villar declared ownership of 14 real properties, including house-and-lot units, condominiums, and parcels of land, with a total value of ₱349,144,407.
Meanwhile, his personal properties, consisting of investments, stock holdings, and vehicles, are valued at ₱912,193,410. He reported no liabilities or debts.
Villar surpassed Senator Raffy Tulfo, who declared a total net worth of ₱1,052,977,100.
Raffy Tulfo’s brother, Senator Erwin Tulfo, declared ₱497,003,425.13, while Villar’s sister, Camille Villar, reported ₱362.07 million.
Senate Majority Floor Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri declared ₱431.78 million, followed by Senators Panfilo Lacson (₱244.94M), Robin Padilla (₱244.04M), Jinggoy Estrada (₱221.22M), Lito Lapid (₱202.05M), Senate President Vicente Sotto III (₱188.87M), and Deputy Majority Floor Leader JV Ejercito (₱137.08M).
Other senators who have made their SALNs public include Pia Cayetano (₱128.29M), Sherwin Gatchalian (₱89.52M), Bam Aquino (₱85.55M), Loren Legarda (₱79.21M), Joel Villanueva (₱49.50M), and Francis Pangilinan (₱26.73M).
The senators with the lowest declared net worth are Francis Escudero (₱18.84M) and Risa Hontiveros (₱18.99M).
As of now, 19 senators have released their SALNs. Those who have yet to make theirs public are Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano and Senators Bong Go, Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, Imee Marcos, and Rodante Marcoleta, all members of the minority bloc.
