Florida Police Arrest Filipino Uncle Accused of Impregnating 12-Year-Old Niece

Police in the United States arrested a Filipino after authorities discovered that he had allegedly been raping his own 12-year-old niece, which resulted in her becoming pregnant.

According to Pinellas Park police in St. Petersburg, Florida, officers responded to a call about a woman giving birth at Helen Howarth Park on July 16.

When police investigated, they discovered that the victim did not know she was pregnant before giving birth.

The victim told investigators that she had been raped for years by her uncle, identified as Delfin Back, 62.

Authorities immediately brought the victim and her newborn child to the hospital. Both were reported to be in good condition.

Police arrested the suspect, who is the victim’s uncle, the next day.

If found guilty, the suspect could face the death penalty.

Under Florida law, the state prosecutor may seek the death penalty in cases of capital sexual battery involving minors.

The suspect is currently in custody at the Pinellas County Jail. 

No statement has yet been issued by the State Attorney’s Office regarding whether prosecutors will seek the death penalty.
