First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos led the opening ceremony of LIKHA 4: Likha Ko, Lahi Ko, a national exhibit featuring handmade crafts and textiles from some of the Philippines’ most talented artisans. The event took place Thursday at the historic Foro de Intramuros in Manila.
In her message, Araneta-Marcos highlighted the dedication and passion behind the creations on display. “Our artisans from all over the country have brought their best to LIKHA 4. Some even walked eight hours from the mountains of Sarangani just to fly to Manila for the first time,” she said on her social media accounts Friday night.

The exhibit features a wide range of traditional Filipino craftsmanship—from intricate weaving to expert woodwork—each piece representing a tribute to the nation’s rich cultural heritage.
“Every creation here tells a story of our people’s artistry and pride,” the First Lady added. “I encourage everyone to visit, engage with our artisans, and support Filipino talent by taking home a piece of our culture.”

LIKHA 4 is open to the public daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Sunday, June 8. The exhibit is part of the government’s key activities celebrating the country’s 127th anniversary of Philippine independence.
With this event, the government aims to not only preserve but also promote Filipino heritage and craftsmanship, giving local artisans a national platform to showcase their work and gain wider recognition.
