A 20-year-old Filipino-American man from Harvard, Illinois has been sentenced to prison following a major investigation into the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.
Authorities began investigating the suspect in April 2025 after the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force flagged suspicious uploads of illegal content on social media platforms.
Forensic investigators traced the uploads to an IP address linked to the suspect’s residence in Harvard, Illinois.
On June 24, 2025, the Harvard Police Department executed a search warrant and seized multiple electronic devices. Authorities later uncovered more than 200 videos involving child sexual abuse.
The suspect was initially charged with 15 counts of child pornography, classified as Class X felonies due to victims being under 13 years old.
In February 2026, he pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography in McHenry County court.
A judge sentenced him to seven years in prison. Under Illinois law, he must serve at least 50 percent of the sentence.
Additional penalties include three years of mandatory supervised release and more than $4,000 in fines. He was also credited with 218 days already served in custody.
