A Filipino former green card holder convicted of statutory rape has been kicked out of the United States and sent back to the Philippines under a court-ordered departure, authorities confirmed.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said the man, once a lawful permanent resident, was forced to leave after his conviction made him deportable under U.S. law.
In a video posted online, ICE agents were seen carrying out a “verification operation” at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport—making sure the convicted individual boarded his flight out of the country.
His face was blurred, and his identity withheld, but officials made it clear: the order was final.
“This individual had a final order of removal,” said Brian Acuna, ICE New Orleans field office director, adding that authorities closely coordinated the departure to ensure he complied with the court’s directive.
The man had earlier been released by a judge while his immigration case was ongoing—but once proceedings wrapped up, deportation followed.
ICE has not released further details about the crime or the suspect, citing privacy rules.
