
Three Barangay Officials, Former Tanod Killed in Dasmariñas, Cavite Shooting

Dasmariñas City, Cavite — Four individuals, including three barangay officials, were killed in a shooting incident that occurred during a flag-raising ceremony on Monday morning in Barangay Salitran III, Dasmariñas City, Cavite. One other person was seriously injured.
The suspect, identified as Ariel, a 50-year-old former barangay tanod (village watchman), allegedly approached the barangay officials from behind and opened fire as the ceremony was underway. The incident took place in front of the Barangay Hall at around 8:00 a.m.
The fatalities were identified as:
Raul, 56, Barangay Captain
Marvin, 54, Councilor
Jose, 65, Councilor
Also injured in the incident was Christine Joseph, the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Secretary, who sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
Following the shooting, the suspect reportedly turned the gun on himself. He was transported to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The Barangay Hall of Salitran III has been temporarily closed as Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) continue their investigation. Authorities have yet to determine the motive behind the attack.
A full investigation by the Philippine National Police is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and to gather all necessary evidence.
